Lash Lifting 101: Everything You Need to Know
March 30, 2026 · 2 min read

A lash lift is the closest thing beauty offers to waking up ready: your own natural lashes, curled up and set that way for weeks, no curler, no extensions, and usually no mascara needed. Here is everything clients ask us before their first lift at BC Beauty Spa.
How it works
Think of it as a tiny, precise perm for your lashes. We place your natural lashes over a soft silicone shield, apply a lifting solution that gently reshapes the curl from the root, then a setting solution that locks the new shape in place. Most clients add a tint in the same visit, which darkens lashes and makes the lift look even more dramatic. The whole appointment takes about an hour, and you keep your eyes closed and relaxed through all of it.
How long it lasts
A lift lasts 6 to 8 weeks, which is the natural life cycle of your lashes. As old lashes shed and new ones grow in straight, the effect gradually softens rather than ending abruptly. There is no awkward grown-out phase like extensions have; your lashes simply return to their natural shape over time.
The first 24 hours decide everything
The setting process finishes over the first day, so the rules are simple but strict: no water on the lashes, no steam, no makeup, no rubbing, and sleep on your back if you can. After 24 hours, you live completely normally: swim, shower, work out, wear mascara, no special maintenance needed.
Lash lift vs. extensions
Extensions add fibers to your lashes and need refills every two to three weeks, careful cleansing, and a real time budget. A lift works with what you grew yourself: lower maintenance, lower cost over time, and zero risk of damage from glue or weight when done professionally. If your natural lashes have decent length, a lift plus tint gives most of the visual payoff with a fraction of the upkeep.
A lash lift at BC Beauty Spa in Dallas is $85 and lasts up to two months. Book your appointment, and your mornings get easier for the rest of the season.
